Lucia designs practical and airy interiors and purposeful product design with an emphasis on detail. She specializes in made-to-measure furniture, bespoke room dividers, and small free-standing objects. Inspiration draws mainly from traveling, observing rural and urban landscapes. She finds strength in simple and abstract shapes and lines. Offers a touch of luxury in the form of using high-quality and durable materials and tailor-made craftsmanship. She always tries to squeeze original, variable, or witty solutions into her work. Whether it is furnishing a smaller apartment or a generous floor plan, working on both has its charm. Her goal is fulfilled if you, your family, or friends feel comfortable and free in the space she has designed.
In her current practice, she is able to apply the rich experience gained from Czech and international design studios and advertising agencies, as well as from individual collaboration with her own clients since 2006. Her career path has evolved from graphic design, expressed in two dimensions, through solving surface and shape problems for packaging design, to the implementation of spatial design. The residential house, House A, was designed using large-scale, multi-layer CLT panels (cross-laminated timber). The opportunity to supervise the construction as a creator brought her valuable experience and a deeper understanding of this trendy and innovative building material.
Lucia holds a Master's degree from the Faculty of Visual Communication at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava and a Bachelor's degree in Packaging Design from the same alma mater. She gained valuable skills during a study stay at the Department of Design at the University of Gothenburg and by completing verified edX course Models in architecture at the Delft University of Technology.
